ESB in the community

Supporting communities

At ESB, we take pride in providing community funds for all of our wind farms across Ireland and the United Kingdom. This is part of our commitment to ensure clear and lasting benefits in the communities which surround each of our wind farms.

The Wind Farm Community Funds

At ESB, we take pride in providing community funds for all of our wind farms across Ireland and the United Kingdom. The Wind Farm Community Funds were established by ESB with the intention of helping the communities in which we operate our wind farms to become more sustainable through the support of positive local initiatives and activities of all kinds.

ESB Sponsorship and Community Initiatives

A brighter future depends upon all of us working together and looking after each other’s future – from Scotland to England, and Wales to Northern Ireland. As the range and scale of our cleaner electricity generation increases in the UK, we continue to explore sponsorship and community initiatives that truly benefit people and their businesses.

Always exploring new initiatives

As the range and scale of our cleaner electricity generation increases in the UK, we will continue to explore sponsorship and community initiatives that truly benefit people and their businesses. Over the recent past alone we have supported lots of exciting and diverse activities including:

The ABC (All Britain Championship) Games

The All Britain youth GAA sports Championship is played over four days each July with more than 2,000 young players taking part. The ABC Games is the second biggest youth GAA event outside of Ireland and we are proud to be a supporter of it.

Christmas at Carrington

In December 2016 we invited our neighbours in Carrington to celebrate Christmas at a party in our state-of-the-art power station. It was a lovely way to meet everyone from the community. You can view the video of our community Christmas party here.

The Young Energy UK awards

We also sponsored the Young Energy UK awards in 2016 which saw over 160 people convening in London to celebrate the successes of the skilled and dedicated workers from all corners of the UK energy industry. You can find out more in our video here.

Bringing neighbours together

These are just a few of the ways we are working hard at ESB to bring communities together, to light up the minds of people, as well as their homes and businesses. A brighter future depends upon all of us working together and looking after each other’s future – from Scotland to England, and Wales to Northern Ireland.

We'd like to thank to all the communities we work alongside. We hope to see you at one of our next community events. Or talk to us today about arranging something near you soon. We'll do our best to help.
